Calling all skiers and riders who enjoy the challenge of the climb as much as the descent. Squaw Valley’s Silverado area will host Red Bull Raid on April 13. What is Red Bull Raid? It’s a competition of 60 competitors throwing down their best ascent times and downhill shredding prowess on Squaw’s world-famous gnarly terrain. Categories are comprised of both men’s and women’s ski touring or splitboarding with 100 points for the climb and 100 points for the descent up for grabs. A single competitor fee is $50, and cash prizes and other big-ticket items will be awarded to the first, second, and third place finishers in each category.
Feel like cheering on the competitors and soaking in all of the action slopeside? Skiers and boarders at Squaw are welcome to attend and support the area’s most talented athletes while enjoying yet another record snow accumulation in the Tahoe region. The specific location of the competition venue within the Silverado area will be determined based on weather and conditions prior to the event.
